Which types of activity is this light support racer back bra suitable for?
The light support racer back fitness bra is perfect for doing low-impact fitness activities such as Pilates, stretching, strength training and yoga. Its level of support is particularly suitable for smaller busts.
How does the light support racer back sports bra make exercise easier?
Whether you do yoga, strength training or Pilates, it's important that you can move freely so that you'll enjoy your workout. That's what we had in mind when designing this bra. Its fabric contains elastane. This material makes the bra's fabric stretchier. This ensures that it will follow all of your movements and won't be uncomfortable.
How does the light support racer back bra keep you dry?
No matter what activity you do, working up a sweat is all part and parcel of exercise. But it's not particularly pleasant to feel damp during or after training. That's why we've created a bra that can wick perspiration. It's not magic; it's technical! This bra's synthetic fabric is breathable and dries quickly. So you'll stay dry throughout your workout.
What's the purpose of the foam cups that you can add to the light support racer back bra?
This sports bra has fabric cups, with no foam padding. You can add foam padding if you want, using the special openings on this model.Foam cups can have several benefits. They provide additional support and keep you more comfortable by covering more of your breasts. They also provide additional protection from impacts. And in terms of aesthetics, they give your breasts a nice shape.
Why is it important to protect your breasts during exercise?
While exercising, your breasts, which are fragile and supported almost exclusively by skin, experience much more stress than in everyday life. No matter your cup size or age, they're subjected to movements and bouncing that can create a force of up to five times their weight. Wearing a sports bra offers the support, comfort and protection your breasts need. It protects your chest from impacts, pain and premature sagging.
High, medium or light support: how do you choose?
Exercising can stretch the skin and ligaments in the chest. Without sufficient support, you may experience pain or premature sagging. But too much support can also be harmful over time. It's therefore essential to make sure that your bra offers the right level of support for your cup size and the intensity of the impacts caused by your activity. The aim is to protect your bust without altering natural breast movement.
What are the support levels offered by Decathlon's sports bras?
Our bras are tested in our labs using a breast support test that measures the decrease in the breasts' acceleration during sports. Our bras are then assessed and categorised as follows: 1 for light support, 3 for medium support and 5 for high support.
Which level of support do you need for which activity?
Your bra's level of support should be suitable for the activity you're doing. Our range consists of three levels:
- Level 1: light support for activities that cause gentle breast movement (Pilates, stretching, strength training, etc.);
- Level 3: medium support for activities that cause a moderate level of bounce (dancing, fitness, cardio training, etc.);
- Level 5: high support for activities involving intensive movements (step aerobics, running, trampolining, etc.).
How do you know which size sports bra to get?
If your sports bra fits well, you can be confident that it will support your chest and be comfortable. To pick the right size, take a tape measure and measure your chest circumference (without a bra):
- stand in front of a mirror; - hold your tape measure horizontally at the top of your back towards the bottom of your shoulder blades; - bring the tape measure across the fullest part of your bust; - take the measurement without pulling it tight;
- take a look at our online calculator if needed
How are Decathlon's sports bras designed?
Decathlon's sports bras are designed by our sports team to optimise your comfort and prevent health issues. We don't use underwiring as it can cause injuries and compress the lymph nodes. There are no seams over the nipples to reduce the risk of rubbing. We prioritise fabrics that wick away perspiration to keep you comfortable and make it much less likely your skin will become irritated.
How should you care for the light support racer back sports bra?
This bra is designed for intensive sports use and can be washed and rewashed. We simply recommend removing the foam cups before washing. Wash it at no more than 30°C, and use our laundry bag, which is sold separately (ref. 8505236).
Use liquid detergent rather than powder, and do not use softeners. Softeners could ruin the fabric's breathability.
Do not tumble dry.
