WHAT SIZE MOUNTAIN BIKE TO CHOOSE?
Several sizes available:
S: between 1.50m and 1.64m
M: between 1.65m and 1.74m
L: between 1.75m and 1.84m
Weigh more than 90kg? For your comfort and safety, "double-walled" rims (more durable) are recommended. The Rockrider ST100 mountain bike will be better for you.
UNISEX FRAME
The ST 50 MTB has a UNISEX frame.
The ST 50's frame has been carefully designed down to the smallest detail, from the top tube's relatively pronounced slope, to the broad range of sizes (S: 1.55m to L: 1.84m). The ST 50 MTB is not only lightweight, but also UNISEX.
To make the most of the improved comfort, the women of the Rockrider team recommend the 500 Women's Sport saddle that is adapted to women's morphology.
A WORD FROM THE TEAM
The ST 50 mountain bike was fully designed and developed by our passionate MTB team at the B'Twin Village in France (Lille).
Recreational mountain bikers told us they want comfort. Based on that, we designed and tested the ST 50 mountain bike, involving MTB riders at every stage.
LIGHTWEIGHT FRAME
100% aluminium: the frame of the Rockrider ST 50 is made from an aluminium that is both durable and lightweight. This helps make your pedalling more effective.
Its sloping geometry makes it easier for both women and men to get on.
Front suspension
The 80 mm front suspension helps you overcome your first obstacles on slightly uneven trails with no worries.
Its mechanical spring is a stamp of reliability. And the fork is particularly easy to maintain.
To adjust the stiffness? It's very easy using a single dial.
REAR SUSPENSION: NONE
This mountain bike has no rear suspension.
It is a "semi-stiff" mountain bike: perfect for beginners launching themselves into their first mountain bike touring rides. Compared to a full suspension mountain bike (with rear suspension), the advantages are clear: the mountain bike is lighter; Less energy is lost on flatter ground.
DERAILLEUR and DRIVETRAIN
3 x 7 speed chainrings, 21 speeds total!
2 easy-to-use grip shifters on the handlebars.
Left (chainrings): control ascents/descents.
Right (speeds): more precise control over your pedalling.
Details: -Triple-chainring chainset (22/32/42 teeth)+ anti-grease protection.
-Microshift FD-M20 front derailleur
-Microshift RD-M25 rear derailleur
-Microshift MS25 grip shifters with speed indicators
-Shimano TZ500 7 cog cassette, 14 to 28 teeth
-Large, solid KMC Z51 chain
HANDLEBARS, STEM, GRIPS
With a stem that tilts 10° upwards, the riding position of the ST 50 is raised, accessible, and comfortable.
In detail:
- Aluminium stem with an angle of 10° for maximum comfort
- 620mm-wide steel handlebar, for stability and control
- "Soft touch" grips for a firm yet soft and pleasant grasp
Saddle
The ST 50 saddle is welded to prevent any saddle movement as you cycle.
Because your comfort is our priority, we've added an exclusive Ergofit saddle that is wider and hammock shaped.
Easily adjust the height of your saddle with the 350mm-long, 29.8mm-diameter seat post.
V-brakes with pads
Two V-Brake pads for effective braking. These brakes are composed of callipers that exert more or less pressure on the rim to slow or stop the rotation of the wheels.
Thanks to the special design of the ST 50's aluminium brake levers, you only need two fingers to brake.
One a year, check how the pads are wearing. If the grooves are disappearing, take your bike to your local store's workshop.
26" WHEELS & TYRES FOR DRY TERRAIN
With this bike's lightweight 26" single-walled wheels, it's easy to get started riding your first MTB trails.
The DRY 26 x 2.0 wheels are the most suitable for riding on dry terrain. The central section has low rolling resistance (faster), while the side lugs provide good grip on turns.
Want to take on obstacles and do wheelies, skids and small jumps? For your safety, "double-walled" rims (more durable) are a good idea. As you'll find on the ROCKRIDER ST 100.
Platform pedals
The Rockrider ST 50 mountain bike comes with resin mountain bike platform pedals for lower weight and increased safety.
If your foot slides on the pedal, there's less risk of injury.
TRANSPORT and STORAGE
We added a quick release system for easily attaching/removing the front wheel.
There is a nut at the back to secure the bike and limit the risk of theft. You will need a spanner to remove the back wheel. Our advice: a bike rack is an easy way to transport your mountain bike without dirtying your car.
